The Same Day: Part 2

Part 1, summarized: In Luke 17:22-37, the Lord Jesus taught that He will first rescue His own, and then, on the same "day," He will return like an unexpected flood to destroy the world. There is no intermittent time period of weeks or years between the two events.

Part 2, Paul taught the same thing

In II Thess. 1:4-10, Paul declares to the persecuted Thessalonians that TWO events will occur when Christ is “revealed from heaven with his mighty angels”:

1. Believers will enter into rest

2. Nonbelievers will be punished with vengeance

Here are the verses:

Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled, rest with us; when the Lord shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished…When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe…

Do you see it? WHEN the Lord shall be revealed from heaven, WHEN he shall come to be glorified in his saints, He will compensate the saved and the lost. To the troubled saints, He will give rest. And to the lost, He will deal out punishment.

The saints do NOT enter into rest seven years before the coming of the Lord. They enter into rest AT the coming of the Lord. This is the Rapture AT the Revelation!

It's the same day!
